Have a Nice Binding

An often-over-looked piece of the puzzle, the binding plays a huge part in how your snowboard feelsunderfoot, and having the proper binding set up will ensure that you have the best possible experience onyour snowboard.

Every snowboarder should know howto mount their snowboard bindings, and how to make quicksadjustments on the hill. Having knowledge about your snowboard binding helps to keep you comfortable andriding all day, but it also helps to keep you safe and secure.

How to set-up your Bataleon bindings

      1. Figure out what stance direction, width, and angles work the best for you.

      2. Place your ‘tied’ boot in the binding. This will allow you to make the proper adjustments to your straps. The goal is to have them centered across your boot, so increase or decrease the length of the strap until you find the center point on both your ankle and toe straps.

      3. Time to adjust the heelcup. This adjustment is critical – ensuring that you are centered on your snowboard – so that you don’t boot out on deep carves.

      4. To start the process, loosen the screws that adjust your heelcup, and using your boot as guide, ensure that your boot is centered in the binding, from toe to heel.

      5. Next, test your stance on the board. Place the bindings on the board in the desired mounting locations and angles. Adjust the heelcup as necessary.

      6. Now it’s time to get the bindings on the snowboard.

      7. Set your discs to the correct angles and find the width that makes the most sense for you – and loosely thread screws into the inserts.

      8. Test the stance. Put your boots back into the bindings, making sure that the binding is centered on the snowboard from toe to heel.

      9. Put your boots on, step into your bindings, and make sure that both the width and angles feel comfortable for you.

      10. Tighten the screws down! Hand tightens each screw, using only a #3 screwdriver, never use an electric screw gun or drill.

      11. Routinely check your screws to make sure everything is tight and secure. No one wants disco-foot.

    Quick Snowboard Binding Repair Tips

We recommend that every snowboarder has essentially spare parts nearby when snowboarding, because you never know what the day will bring. Our Never Miss a Day philosophy has saved our Team riders and staff from missing out on riding, and you never want to have to skip the “day of days” because you forgot to pack an extra ladder strap.

We recommend that every snowboarder has a parts pack and is complemented by a screwdriver or a multi-tool. These tools can stay in your car if you’re lapping the resort, but we’d recommend that they’re in your pack if you feel like venturing a little further out.
