We've taken our ongoing collaboration with Beyond Medals to a new level for this season. Taking cues from the Goliath and Whatever, we've designed a completely new board with an elongated nose and squared off tail. This fresh shape was developed together with Tor Lundström to best fit his fast aggressive riding style. This a serious tool no matter the conditions.

Pow

What’s this board’s natural home? Full send in the park? Elbows down on the trails? Or chucking roosters somewhere off grid?

Flex

SoftStiff

Softer snowboards are easier to press and won’t kick your ass if you make a mistake. Stiffer decks are more stable at speed and super responsive edge-to-edge. Choose your poison.

Float

67

10100

Min. FloatMax. Float

Maximum volume for surfy vibes in the pow, or a smaller surface area for nimble freestyle performance. This number is calculated with length, width, 3D shape and surface distribution.

Outline Shape

Directional Twin

Boards that need to excel both on the slopes and out of bounds are shaped with evenly proportioned center and side bases and a medium uplift striking the optimal balance for freestyle and freeriding.

Camber Profile

Medium Camber

Camber profiles are defined from low to high. Higher camber make for more dynamic boards that need to be ridden more aggressively to get maximum performance. Lower camber boards are smoother on lower speeds and in powder. All camber profiles run from nose to tail. higher is not always better...

3D Shape

3BT™ + Sidekick™

Combining the responsiveness of traditional tip-to-tail camber with the dynamic shaping properties of Triple Base Technology makes for a 3D snowboarding experience like no other.

Nose Sidebase Uplift

Low

The gradual side base uplift in the nose determines how the board will behave on snow. most effected are the edge to edge performance and the uplift generated when riding powder.

Tail Sidebase Uplift

Low

The gradual side base uplift in the tail determines how the board will behave on snow. Any amount of uplift brings all the benefits of Triple Base Technology making opur boards more versatile then others.

Glassing

Bi-Ax Lamination

A traditional two-way weave that is light, strong and playful; it keeps the board snappy without adding torsional stiffness, which is great for getting creative.

Woodcore

Ultra Light Core

A 70/30 Paulownia and poplar blend that offers awesome strength to weight.

Base

Hyper Glide S

Our standard sintered base that’s durable and fast – and even faster when you keep it waxed.

Sidewalls

Shock Walls

This is our Urethane infused sidewall technology. ShockWalls smooth out your ride and are more resistant to impact.

Tech

D.S.T. SuperTubes

Dual Super Tubes, a Super Tube on either side of the board enhances pop and gives the camber more snap.

Layup & Laminate

Carbon Stringers

Our tried and tested carbon layups. We deploy them in different areas to fine-tune the feel of each model.

Inserts

+2 Backseat Inserts

Backseat inserts are an set of extra inserts 4cm behind the bottom inserts. This allows you to set your bindings all the way back, so you can keep floating on those deep pow days. By shifting your weight more back on the board the nose stays up and the pressure on you back leg is reduced.

At the heart of every Bataleon is a combination of 3BT™ and positive camber. It’s an innovative solution to the profile puzzle that minimizes the potential for edge-catch without sacrificing ollie power or carving performance. From this starting point, we fine-tune each element according to the boards desired riding style.

SideKick™ builds on the concept of Triple Base by increasing the sidebase uplift just outside the widest points of the nose and tail. The tips become more like a hull, boosting float in deep snow and slicing through crud. It also helps the board to roll quickly and evenly from edge to edge.

Supertubes™ are hollow carbon cylinders that are inserted directly into the core. They reinforce the camber, reduce weight and greatly increase pop. By varying their location we can fine-tune the board’s performance further.

The Real Deal

Got back to riding this year after many years off, and after trying out my newly purchased Lobster board, decided I needed something a bit more for the directional-style riding I was used to. The Lobster board was good, but needed something more similar to the old freeride ALLIAN Team board I had from ages ago so I scooped this guy in 159 and couldn’t be happier. It has more of a throwback feel to it with the Q-tip styled nose, but can still be rode switch with ease and holds lines super hard. Maneuvering with this board is effortless and sturdy, and gave me much needed confidence after close to 20 years of not riding. Didn’t get to surf any powder lines with it, but spent three days in Tahoe breaking it in on mountain terrain and it definitely cuts through the chunder and makes for a smooth ride on groomers, and it straight up murked a couple bowl runs at Kirkwood like I never missed a day. Can’t wait to get back on it next season and find some powder. I get it that board trends change, but I can’t believe this board isn’t sold out. It’s an incredible ride. Nice work BM/Bataleon.

Amazing how much better it feels than the 2022 whatever

I have a 2022 whatever and while it wasn’t a bad board, the difference riding this is night and day for me. I especially love how I can just aim at moguls and rough snow and it can just get over or through them. From the limited experience I have had with powder it floats well through moderate pow. It turns incredibly precisely and I always feel confident I will be able to make the turns I set out too. It’s been awesome for tree runs and always feels under my control.

My only complaint is that while the base graphic this year (2024) is pretty awesome, the top is almost entirely glossy black which is boring and also prone to scratches.

I have a size 10 foot, am 174cm/5’8.5”, 82kg/182lbs and I find the 158W is perfect for me.

Incredible board. Charges through pretty much anything and floats super well in the deep stuff. Pops if you load it and stomps whatever you throw yourself off of. It’s aggressive but if you put in the effort you will be rewarded. Lays trenches like no other. Highly recommend. I’m 5’9” 170 and the 154 fits like a glove.

Really really good

First of all, I think I get more compliments on the top sheet graphic than anything else. It’s just so clean.

I kinda wish there was a little more pop to this board but it still gets the job done just with a little more effort.

Floatier than I expected, which is awesome. It’s really response edge-to-edge and confidence-inspiring on faster terrain.

Wishing I would have got the 158W as someone with size L bindings and 11.5 boots.
