Park

Resort

Pow

What’s this board’s natural home? Full send in the park? Elbows down on the trails? Or chucking roosters somewhere off grid?

Flex

7.0

Softer snowboards are easier to press and won’t kick your ass if you make a mistake. Stiffer decks are more stable at speed and super responsive edge-to-edge. Choose your poison.

Float Ratio

73

Maximum volume for surfy vibes in the pow, or a smaller surface area for nimble freestyle performance. This number is calculated with length, width, 3D shape and surface distribution.

Outline Shape

Directional

On our more freeride orientated boards the center base is at its most narrow and the uplift is at its highest this creates unparalleled float in pow super fast edge-to-edge transitioning.

Nose Sidebase Uplift

High

The gradual side base uplift in the nose determines how the board will behave on snow. most effected are the edge to edge performance and the uplift generated when riding powder.

Tail Sidebase Uplift

Medium

The gradual side base uplift in the tail determines how the board will behave on snow. Any amount of uplift brings all the benefits of Triple Base Technology making our boards more versatile then others.

Camber Profile

High Camber

Camber profiles are defined from low to high. Higher camber make for more dynamic boards that need to be ridden more aggressively to get maximum performance. Lower camber boards are smoother on lower speeds and in powder. All camber profiles run from nose to tail. higher is not always better...

3D Shape

3BT™ + Sidekick™

Combining the responsiveness of traditional tip-to-tail camber with the dynamic shaping properties of Triple Base Technology and the performance boosting Sidekick feature makes for a 3D snowboarding experience like no other.

Layup & Laminate

Carbon
Tri-Ax

Exclusive to the Thunder Bolt, we’ve woven carbon directly into the fiberglass for the ultimate in high speed dampening and tip-to-tail response.

Layup & Laminate

Carbon
Stringers

Our tried and tested carbon layups. We deploy them in different areas to fine-tune the feel of each model.

Woodcore

Super Ultra
Light Core

Our lightest core features an 80/20 blend of Paulownia and poplar for the ultimate in featherweight response.

Special Sauce

D.R.S.T.
Super Tubes

Dual Radial Super Tubes, similar to DST but with four extra Super Tubes (six in total) running parallel to the board radius, delivering extra power to the edges.

Layup & Laminate

Tri-Ax
Lamination

Our three-way fiberglass weave is light, strong and crazy responsive. We use this to beef up the flex pattern on our more aggressive boards.

Base

Nano Speed S
Base

The fastest base money can buy, produced using race-grade ISOSPORT 7000 P-tex.

Special Sauce

AirRide
Technology

We incorporated a flexible composite material into the woodcore along the 3BT™ crease points to dampen vibration at high speed and make your snowboard smoother in all conditions. Think of it as a top of the line suspension system for your snowboard.

Inserts

+2 Backseat
Inserts

Backseat inserts are an set of extra inserts 4cm behind the bottom inserts. This allows you to set your bindings all the way back, so you can keep floating on those deep pow days. By shifting your weight more back on the board the nose stays up and the pressure on you back leg is reduced.

Topsheet 3D

Step Down Rails
Top 3D

This topsheet 3D effect features a slight taper of the deck along the top of the sidewall. This reduces the top-profile, saving weight and adding more precision to your carves.

Sidewalls

Solid Walls
Sidewall

We use tried and trusted ABS sidewalls for most of the collection. For the best flex to strength ratio.

Layup & Laminate

PreCured Carbon
Stringers

Precured carbon offers even livelier rebound than our regular stringers. We use it to stiffen the tail and improve drive through turns on performance boards like the Surfer.

At the heart of every Bataleon is a combination of 3BT™ and positive camber. It’s an innovative solution to the profile puzzle that minimizes the potential for edge-catch without sacrificing ollie power or carving performance. From this starting point, we fine-tune each element according to the boards desired riding style.

SideKick™ builds on the concept of Triple Base by increasing the sidebase uplift just outside the widest points of the nose and tail. The tips become more like a hull, boosting float in deep snow and slicing through crud. It also helps the board to roll quickly and evenly from edge to edge.

Supertubes™ are hollow carbon cylinders that are inserted directly into the core. They reinforce the camber, reduce weight and greatly increase pop. By varying their location we can fine-tune the board’s performance further.

AirRide™ is an additive we include within the woodcore of select models, which dampens vibrations and makes riding smoother at high speeds. It’s like having a suspension system in your snowboard.

Switch to this for any type of riding and resort

I've been snowboarding for over 20 years and this is my 7th board and by far my favorite! Switched from all-mountain true twin to this and I thought I was fast before now I'm wicked fast and able to plow through terrain I would not hit at full speed. Super stable and edge hold is 10/10 you will not be disappointed with the awesome performance

Shake and bake

As a rider who likes to go fast and maintain turning ability while doing so I can positively say this the fastest and most responsive board I have ever operated. This board handles like a sports car. Take it easy on your first couple laps as it gets around a turn faster than you think it will. This board will allow you to dig trench lines and euro carve while maintaining an insane speed.

If you’re a speed demon who appreciates the art of a good turn. This board is necessary.

My board is completely off

So I got the thunderbolt. I noticed the graphic was longer on one side than the other and was thinking “it’s probably just the graphic” but when u looked it over, sure enough, the boards center is about three inches to the left. Now this will make the board ride different. I contacted customer support, wrote three emails, and even reached out on Instagram. The only response I received was on Instagram telling me to email and contact us from their page same as I already did. So pretty much I paid 830$ for a messed up board and no help. I am super disappointed. I was about to buy a evil twin sister too, but F that, I’m just gonna stick with the Jones boards, which are better. I rode the off board and it wasn’t that bad, still fun, but was definitely off. Since customer support didn’t help for one second I probably will never buy another bataleon board again, and that’s from someone who has 23 complete set up snowboards, and is obsessed with getting new ones and trying the different styles. You can even see in the pictures how many snowboards I have behind the thunderbolt.

Nico Demetrio. Snowboard guide. 5.7 /180lbs/49 yrs old Chilean American snowboarding since 1992. This is the top of the cream Bataleon freeride board. Fast, lively but yet stable and dumped. Single radius sidecut and TB3 technology makes it a freestyle feel freeride board to take your snowboarding to the next level. Want to ride it switch? no problem. Want to charge heavy steep lines? no problem. Just the right stiffness for expert and advance riders. If money is not your issue and you want to have the best materials made into a snowship dream board. dont hesitate to buy The Bataleon Thunder Bolt

Best snowboard ever!!!

I have been snowboarding since 1992...ridden so many boards...the ThunderBolt 158 is the best board I have ever owned. Fast, nimble, and super reactive. Now I don't want to touch any of my other boards!
