Pow

What’s this board’s natural home? Full send in the park? Elbows down on the trails? Or chucking roosters somewhere off grid?

Flex

6.0

110

SoftStiff

Softer snowboards are easier to press and won’t kick your ass if you make a mistake. Stiffer decks are more stable at speed and super responsive edge-to-edge. Choose your poison.

Float

69

10100

Min. FloatMax. Float

Maximum volume for surfy vibes in the pow, or a smaller surface area for nimble freestyle performance. This number is calculated with length, width, 3D shape and surface distribution.

Outline Shape

Directional

On our more freeride orientated boards the center base is at its most narrow and the uplift is at its highest this creates unparalleled float in pow super fast edge-to-edge transitioning.

Camber Profile

Low Camber

Camber profiles are defined from low to high. Higher camber make for more dynamic boards that need to be ridden more aggressively to get maximum performance. Lower camber boards are smoother on lower speeds and in powder. All camber profiles run from nose to tail. Higher is not always better...

3D Shape

3BT™ + Sidekick™

Combining the responsiveness of traditional tip-to-tail camber with the dynamic shaping properties of Triple Base Technology and the performance boosting Sidekick feature makes for a 3D snowboarding experience like no other.

Nose Sidebase Uplift

High

The gradual side base uplift in the nose determines how the board will behave on snow. most effected are the edge to edge performance and the uplift generated when riding powder.

Tail Sidebase Uplift

Medium

The gradual side base uplift in the tail determines how the board will behave on snow. Any amount of uplift brings all the benefits of Triple Base Technology making opur boards more versatile then others.

Glassing

Tri-Ax Lamination

Our three-way fiberglass weave is light, strong and crazy responsive. We use this to beef up the flex pattern on our more aggressive boards.

Woodcore

Light Core

50/50 Paulownia and poplar creates a balanced core that’s lively yet strong.

Base

Ultra Glide S

A premium, 7000-grade sintered base reserved for our high-end models. Packing more molecules into the P-tex means it’s super tough and hauls ass.

Sidewalls

Solid Walls

We use tried and trusted ABS sidewalls for most of the collection. For the best flex to strength ratio.

Tech

D.S.T. SuperTubes

Dual Super Tubes, a Super Tube on either side of the board enhances pop and gives the camber more snap.

Layup & Laminate

Carbon Stringers

Our tried and tested carbon layups. We deploy them in different areas to fine-tune the feel of each model.

Inserts

+2 Backseat Inserts

Backseat inserts are an set of extra inserts 4cm behind the bottom inserts. This allows you to set your bindings all the way back, so you can keep floating on those deep pow days. By shifting your weight more back on the board the nose stays up and the pressure on you back leg is reduced.

At the heart of every Bataleon is a combination of 3BT™ and positive camber. It’s an innovative solution to the profile puzzle that minimizes the potential for edge-catch without sacrificing ollie power or carving performance. From this starting point, we fine-tune each element according to the boards desired riding style.

SideKick™ builds on the concept of Triple Base by increasing the sidebase uplift just outside the widest points of the nose and tail. The tips become more like a hull, boosting float in deep snow and slicing through crud. It also helps the board to roll quickly and evenly from edge to edge.

Supertubes™ are hollow carbon cylinders that are inserted directly into the core. They reinforce the camber, reduce weight and greatly increase pop. By varying their location we can fine-tune the board’s performance further.

Can not wait

Summer could pass by quicker here in Canada... Crazy to say that but I'm just so pumped to rip this thing. Crew is sending me some stickers as well after request which is awesome.

3BT seems like it's going to be unreal. Canadian Rockie slack is about to get shredded.

Bataleon Thunderstorm

I recently purchased a Bataleon Thunderstom which arrived on time and in mint condition. The board looks fantastic and it was super easy to set up with my Union Falcor bindings. I cant wait to try it out on the Mountains !

A great all round board! On piste, off piste, glades, park, powder, side hits it does it all. And at this price too?!?!

Bad @$$ Board

I love 3bt and I was riding the evil twin as an all mountain board (surprise... its not the best for that) I recently got the Thunderstorm and man this board is a hard charging beast. It hold hard on your edges on the groomers and on ice. It floats great in powder and is ridged and playful in the ungroomed areas of the mountain.

I love this board 10/10 would recommend.

Now I know what love is.

My first day on this board was after a 25cm overnight dump and I dont think I've smiled like I did, before.

I am a beginner and picked up snowboarding this year. I reside in the PNW and 2023-24 season has not been a very favourable one in terms of snowfall.
SO I get the rental setup which is maybe a decade old; if not older. It did the job but I could already feel it holding me back in terms of progressing skill-wise. I decided to invest in my own setup and took the reverse approach, in identifying the board first.

Now the boon and the bane of the internet is all the options and advice out there. So the biggest point of contention was that this is not really a beginner board. I'm not anywhere in the realm of a pro snowboarder - or even intermediate for that matter - to say that it is, but in MY experience of riding it, it has been an absolute pleasure. Even transitioning from a non-3D beginner board to the ThunderStorm took just about 3 runs to get used to.
But rider beware, this board waaaants to rip up the mountain. That said, the 3BT+Sidekick does aid you in preventing catching an edge, while also gliding the flats. Moreover, it's also an intentional decision for me, to grow with the board and become a better, more technical rider rather than getting something I will grow out of in a season or two. So I'm all for learning how she wants to be handled.

tl;dr GREAT board, if you're in the market for an all-mountain, beginner or not, you cannot go wrong with this one. Plus, its pretty AF and definitely lives up to its name.
