The grid texture helps both pull moisture away from your head and dry the garment itself naturally by breaking up the surface area. I used it while Snowmaking this winter. We go through so many temperature variances throughout our shift and some days I wouldn't take it of the whole night. Pulling the face mask part down onto your neck felt comfortable and not too tight.
