Are you a freestyle snowboarder who is side and backcountry-curious? The Women’s Thunderstorm is about to be your best friend, and it starts with the shape. A little bit of taper is paired with a hybrid 3D design (more 3D in the tip than the tail), helping the board turn quickly, float in the deep stuff, and still feel comfortable going both directions. Designed to be poppy, stable, and versatile, the Thunderstorm thrives on high-energy resort riding and is ready for anything you can put in front of it.

Shape

Outline Shape

Nose Sidebase Uplift

High

The gradual side base uplift in the nose determines how the board will behave on snow. Most affected are the edge to edge performance and the uplift generated when riding powder.

Tail Sidebase Uplift

Medium

The gradual side base uplift in the tail determines how the board will behave on snow. Any amount of uplift brings all the benefits of Triple Base Technology making our boards more versatile than others.

Camber Profile

Medium Camber

Camber profiles are defined from low to high. Higher camber make for more dynamic boards that need to be ridden more aggressively to get maximum performance. Lower camber boards are smoother on lower speeds and in powder. All camber profiles run from nose to tail. Higher is not always better...

3D Shape

3BT™ & Sidekick™

Combining the responsiveness of traditional tip-to-tail camber with the dynamic shaping properties of Triple Base Technology and the performance boosting Sidekick feature makes for a 3D snowboarding experience like no other.

Features

Technology Technology

At the heart of every Bataleon is a combination of 3BT™ and positive camber. It’s an innovative solution to the profile puzzle that minimizes the potential for edge-catch without sacrificing ollie power or carving performance. From this starting point, we fine-tune each element according to the boards desired riding style.

3D shaping 3D shaping

SideKick™ builds on the concept of Triple Base by increasing the sidebase uplift just outside the widest points of the nose and tail. The tips become more like a hull, boosting float in deep snow and slicing through crud. It also helps the board to roll quickly and evenly from edge to edge.

Construction Construction

Supertubes™ are hollow carbon cylinders that are inserted directly into the core. They reinforce the camber, reduce weight and greatly increase pop. By varying their location we can fine-tune the board’s performance further.

Construction

Woodcore Woodcore

Ultra Light Core

A 70/30 Paulownia and poplar blend that offers awesome strength to weight.

Base Base

Ultra Glide S

A premium, 7000-grade sintered base reserved for our high-end models. Packing more molecules into the P-tex means it’s super tough and hauls ass.

Glassing Glassing

Tri-Ax Lamination

Our three-way fiberglass weave is light, strong and crazy responsive. We use this to beef up the flex pattern on our more aggressive boards.

Layup & Laminate Layup & Laminate

Carbon Stringers

Our tried and true carbon layups. We've used them in different areas to fine-tune the feel of each model.

Tech Tech

D.S.T. SuperTubes

Dual Super Tubes, a Super Tube on either side of the board enhances pop and gives the camber more snap.

Topsheet Topsheet

Step Down Rails Top 3D

This topsheet 3D effect features a slight taper of the deck along the top of the sidewall. This reduces the top-profile, saving weight and adding more precision to your carves.

Inserts Inserts

24 Inserts

A-grade German stainless steel inserts make sure you are locked to your board. These high quality inserts can take years of binding stance switches.

Sidewalls Sidewalls

Flex Walls

Our Urethane Poured Sidewalls offer exceptional shock absorption, reducing chatter and vibration for a smoother, more stable ride. Flexwalls provide flexibility and resilience, allowing the board to maintain its integrity even in extreme conditions. With superior impact resistance, they ensure your snowboard performs at its peak, season after season.

MUST BUY BOARD

when i decided to buy this board i was going to use it as a dedicated powder board. Unfortunately the PNW is precipitationally challenged this year, so I've had the HONOR of being able to use this board in variable conditions and it....RIPS. Just as much fun in powder as it is in park, groomers etc. This was my first bataleon board and I have become a customer for life. within my first week of owning this board I was already plotting which model I was going to get next. DONT THINK, JUST BUY. Cameleon review coming next!

P.S. if you like going fast, put structure in it. Bataleons base material is harder than diamond and it takes structure like a champ and makes the boards uncomfortably (but awesome) fast and leaves you with the biggest smile after almost meeting jesus at speeds not meant for humans to achieve on a snowboard.

Been on this board for 3 years now. Absolutely love it

Been on breck, Park city, and Big Sky so far on this board and it hasn’t let me down. Its responsive and wrecks powder and groomers. If im feeling a park day, it goes strong despite not being a park board. I recommend it to all my friends.

Prompt customer service and fast shipping. Pre season so I haven't tried the board. Looks nice! Excited to try a bataleon board this winter.

This board rules!!

As a Midwest rider who mostly rides in southern MI I knew I wasn’t going to be able to really put this board to the test at home. Well let me tell you after just getting home from riding out at Breck &A Basin in CO…. THIS BOARD RULES. I have never had so much fun riding as I did this past weekend. This board handled everything with ease and I really felt like I could take it to that next level over the ungroomed terrain. Bend those knees and let er rip!! Can’t recommend this board enough.

Also love how fast the sintered base is. First trip out west where I didn’t get stuck on any cat tracks. I was the one waiting on my buddy for once.

Game Changer: ThunderStorm 2025

I’m 6'2" and weigh 222 lbs, and I’ve got to say, the ThunderStorm 2025 is a serious game changer for me! First off, it's a gorgeous board—I got tons of compliments from lift staff. Coming from an entry-level flat-rocker, this upgrade is incredible.

The 3BT, Sidekick, and Supertubes tech really deliver; I hardly caught an edge, and it lets me turn more aggressively. It’s super light compared to my old board, and the pop on side hits is awesome. Plus, it cruised smoothly over flat catwalks when my old board would stall out.

As someone getting more comfortable with my riding, this board made practicing switch way more fun and intuitive. I totally recommend the ThunderStorm 2025 if you're looking to step up your game into intermediate or even advanced riding!

Very enjoyable!

This board gives me so much confidence to go hard and make the turns stick.

I upgraded to a Thunderstorm coming from a Funkink and that is a world of difference.
Almost as big as going from an oldscool flat Burton to the Funkink years ago.

Rides great

I upgraded to this from a much softer bataleon. Rides right through chunder and it’s fast! I am a big fan.

I love that it looks like a pack of smokes from the 90’s

Just ordered it in 162 w. With a 27.2 waist to handle my big feet. Will update once I get in on snow. But I love my other Bataleon Board the C2 GG 157. But I wish I had went with the 161 though. The 157 is a bit narrow. Still a super fun ride! Can’t wait to try a wider board from Bataleon!

It rips

Amazing board. I ride very aggressively and this board keeps up no problem. Does amazing on ice, thin coverage, and powder. The raised edges on the nose and tail definitely help with carving and not catching edges.

Don’t be afraid

Gotta be honest, I was skeptical of the 3D base and worried that the rail to rail engagement would be too floaty with the boat hull shape. My wife got a the Storm a couple years ago and ever since has been telling me how much I would enjoy it. Finally decided to give it a go (especially with an insane sale price) and am now feeling like I wasted multiple seasons as a loyal warpig fan. This board is nuts! Noticeable quality right out of the box and a pleasant but simplistic graphic which I really appreciate. But some mileage on it in central Oregon and so far it has been nothing but epic. Playful and rowdy and GODDAMN she wants to go fast. Rails are super grippy and carry speed through big carves. Flexible enough for all the butters and stiff enough to give you all the pop you could want. If you don’t pick a rail…this board will pick for you. I wouldn’t suggest it for any riders lacking confidence and still in the more timid phase of riding, but if you are really comfortable riding give this thing a chance to change the way you approach the hill. Thanks for a great board, I will be back for more!!

The speeding bronco. Better hold tight to them reins.

You better be a good driver, because this thing loves to ride fast. O man does this thing love to move. It just wants to go go go. If you don't ride control it, it will control.

Couldn't be happier. I love this board.

Great Stability

I bought this board to try something different from what I’ve been riding (a directional all-mountain board with camber/rocker/camber profile). I am 5’’5” and weigh about 150 and went with the 152 N. It is about an inch wider underfoot than my old board. I can feel that it takes a bit longer to engage and disengage my turns …but I like that I got a new board with a different feel to it. The transitions between turns aren’t as quick , but I can hold my turns longer. Where I think this board really performs is in fresh powder and through mashed potato snow and tracked out un-groomed conditions. It powers through crud with stability and very little chatter. It’s stable, yet floaty in powder. I’m able to ride switch pretty comfortably when needed. I’d recommend this board if you’re looking for something that will put down long, stable trenches on groomer days., and it will be my go-to on powder days. I will ride my other board if I want something for shorter, quicker turning and carving tricks.

Bataleon Thunderstorm

Transitioned from a beginner board to the Thunderstorm and I had no issues adjusting to the board. I love to carve and this board makes it so easy and fun. Does great in powder and any resort riding.

Can not wait

Summer could pass by quicker here in Canada... Crazy to say that but I'm just so pumped to rip this thing. Crew is sending me some stickers as well after request which is awesome.

3BT seems like it's going to be unreal. Canadian Rockie slack is about to get shredded.

Bataleon Thunderstorm

I recently purchased a Bataleon Thunderstom which arrived on time and in mint condition. The board looks fantastic and it was super easy to set up with my Union Falcor bindings. I cant wait to try it out on the Mountains !

A great all round board! On piste, off piste, glades, park, powder, side hits it does it all. And at this price too?!?!

Bad @$$ Board

I love 3bt and I was riding the evil twin as an all mountain board (surprise... its not the best for that) I recently got the Thunderstorm and man this board is a hard charging beast. It hold hard on your edges on the groomers and on ice. It floats great in powder and is ridged and playful in the ungroomed areas of the mountain.

I love this board 10/10 would recommend.

Now I know what love is.

My first day on this board was after a 25cm overnight dump and I dont think I've smiled like I did, before.

I am a beginner and picked up snowboarding this year. I reside in the PNW and 2023-24 season has not been a very favourable one in terms of snowfall.
SO I get the rental setup which is maybe a decade old; if not older. It did the job but I could already feel it holding me back in terms of progressing skill-wise. I decided to invest in my own setup and took the reverse approach, in identifying the board first.

Now the boon and the bane of the internet is all the options and advice out there. So the biggest point of contention was that this is not really a beginner board. I'm not anywhere in the realm of a pro snowboarder - or even intermediate for that matter - to say that it is, but in MY experience of riding it, it has been an absolute pleasure. Even transitioning from a non-3D beginner board to the ThunderStorm took just about 3 runs to get used to.
But rider beware, this board waaaants to rip up the mountain. That said, the 3BT+Sidekick does aid you in preventing catching an edge, while also gliding the flats. Moreover, it's also an intentional decision for me, to grow with the board and become a better, more technical rider rather than getting something I will grow out of in a season or two. So I'm all for learning how she wants to be handled.

tl;dr GREAT board, if you're in the market for an all-mountain, beginner or not, you cannot go wrong with this one. Plus, its pretty AF and definitely lives up to its name.

Fantastic!

The pop, the playfulness and how it behaves in speed and powder - just amazing. Don’t care what anybody thinks about 3D tech - try it.

Great All Mountain!

Used it in east coast mush and it performed great! Pop was great, really got some extra energy to get some air. No issues riding switch!

Awesome Board!

I was looking for a better all mountain board that would also perform better in powder. This board is it! Super smooth and easy to ride and does great in powder and around the mountain.

Fantastic board

I rode this on an early season crusty New England day and didn’t wash out once. I was curious about the 3bt in east coast conditions but it performs amazingly.
